Immigration
The changing patterns of immigration into Turkey and Turkey's efforts to become a member of the EU (European Union) are creating pressure for an overhaul of immigration. Also, there is a growing concern in Europe that if Turkey did become a member of the EU, there would be a massive wave of immigration form Turkey.
Emigration
A large-scale of Turkish labor of emigration to Europe stated with an agreement signed by the Turkish and West German governments in 1961. The pact signed with West German economic boom, and the migration of the growing number of people of Turkish internal migrants from rural areas to major urban centers. It was expected that these workers would return to Turkey with new skills and help reorient the Turkish economy from rural agriculture to industry.
