Gender and age
Istanbul has grown to a population of 14,160,467 people and it is 18.5% of Turkey's whole population. In Istanbul on the Asian side called Anatolia the population is 35% and on the European side called Thrace the population is 65%. The population is made up of 50.21% men and 49.79 female. The male and female percentage rates are almost the same, as shown in the diagram they are almost balanced on each side.
Religion and Ethnic Groups
The Christian and Jewish numbers keep decreasing over the years in overall numbers, but as of January 2014 there are 3,190 Islamic churches, so the main religion in Istanbul would be the Islamic community. Today the largest ethnic minority is the Kurdish community which originated from the eastern and southeastern sides of Turkey.
